This policy explains what Go Division 1 collects, why, who helps us handle it, and what you can do about it. We built the Portal for young athletes and their families, so we collect as little as we can and we never sell it.
Who we are
Go Division 1 (“Go D1”, “we”, “us”) is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [MAILING ADDRESS]. Questions about this policy or your data: info@godivisionone.com.
What we collect
We collect the minimum we need to run the Portal. We do not collect home addresses, GPA, transcripts, test scores, medical information or payment card numbers.
- Parent or account holder: name, email, phone (for coaches and facilities), password (stored hashed by our login provider, never readable by us).
- Athlete profile: name, sport, graduation class, school, height, weight, bats and throws, goals, the numbers and results entered by the family or a coach, film links, and photos you choose to upload.
- Date of birth: kept in a separate record that only the athlete's own family can read. Facilities see an age in years, not the date.
- Facility activity: which facility an athlete belongs to, bookings, check-ins, attendance and results a coach records.
- Sign-up details: your answers on the sign-up form, whether you opted in to email, and where you came from (the page you landed on, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link).
- Messages: anything you send us through feedback forms or email.
- Device storage: your browser keeps your login session, the sign-up source note, and a facility join code. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run your account, profile and the features you use.
- To show families and their facility the athlete's progress, with each number labeled Unverified, C-Verified or GD1-Verified.
- To send account email (sign-up links, password resets, staff invites). You get these whether or not you opt in to marketing.
- To send updates, templates and call invites, only if you ticked the optional email box. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the service safe, stop abuse, and fix bugs.
- To understand, in aggregate, where sign-ups come from.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use analytics or tracking pixels.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Go D1 is for families. A parent or guardian owns the family account and the athlete is a record inside it. We do not allow accounts for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. Athletes 13 and older may have their own login. We do not accept athletes younger than 9.
Information about athletes aged 9 to 12 is entered by their parent or guardian. By creating the account, the parent tells us they are the parent or guardian and agrees to this policy for the child.
Parent rights. A parent can at any time review the information in their family account, correct it, ask us to stop collecting more, and ask us to delete it. See “Your rights” below. If you think a child under 13 has given us information directly, write to info@godivisionone.com and we will delete it.
Public profiles
Athlete profiles are private by default. A parent or guardian can make a profile public. Anyone with the link can then see the name, school, stats and film on it, and search engines may find it. Switch it back to private at any time and the link stops working.
How long we keep it
- Account and athlete data: while the account is open.
- After you ask us to delete: we wait 30 days so you can change your mind (sign in to cancel), then delete it, including the athlete's results, photos and film. Payment records a facility needs for tax keep the amount and date but lose the name. Copies in our backups roll off on their normal schedule.
- Sign-ups that never created an account: kept up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Records we must keep for law, tax or fraud prevention: as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Whoever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Parents can do this for their children. To delete the whole account or any data, email info@godivisionone.com from the address on the account. We may ask a question to confirm it is you, and we will answer within 30 days. Deleting from inside the app is coming, and this page will say so when it ships.
California and similar state laws. If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you also have the right to know what we collect, to get a copy, to correct, to delete, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data. We do not sell or share data in that sense, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not treat you worse for using these rights. You can use an authorized agent to make a request.
Email. Marketing email is optional and off unless you tick the box. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us, and we stop.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to family data is limited by database rules so a family can read only its own records, and facilities see only their own athletes. No system is perfect, so please use a strong, unique password. If we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Where data is stored
Our providers store data in the United States and possibly other countries. The service is built for families in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will post the new version here, update the date, and email account holders when the change is significant.
